My first time using a professional 35mm camera was when I was about 13 years old, and we did a school project about the Wayland Police Department. I signed out a Canon F1 from the school AV Department, and using that equipment was very cool! We took photos and developed them in the school darkroom. I was hooked. This was my first time using a real professional SLR, and it was the best thing ever! I just had to get my own. A few years later, when I was 16, I got a job at a cinema as an usher. I saved my money and it was around 1978 when I got my Fujica STX-1 35mm SLR camera. It wasn’t exactly a Canon F1, but what a tank! I lugged that camera everywhere and put it through its paces. I still have it today (below right).
